I'm excited to share with you a project I'd been working on for the past few weeks.

The Swedish House Mafia's - Antidote Music video directed by BBgun!

Produced by Grayson Ross and I, this first-person, single-take, armed-robbery of a strip club set in Tokyo had many elements associated with it.

It would not have been possible with the many talented and hard working people that helped along the way (credits below), to not only shoot our primary video but along side it create / and shoot a completely different TV-Safe version.

What a journey the last month has been, and what an awesome conclusion to the end of the year.

I'm excited to share another music video I produced, this time with the directing duo called Orson Whales @Radical Media.

The directors, Alex Germanotta and Shahan Jafri are really creative with their technique and worked extremely hard to pull off what most would have done in post.

The music video was for Elle Varner, whose incredible voice, and down to earth personality coupled to create an awesome track.

Her talents and a feature from J Cole make it a must see.

Detroit | July 2011

I was in Detroit last week shooting a music video for the talented Breezee One, and in between some of our shooting days I snapped some moments throughout the city.

Detroit is unlike any other city. At times it feels massive and desserted, at other times it's bussling with life and movement. The city is extremely senstivie to the ever changing economy but what i most impressive to see, is the sense of community, growth and positive attitude that the city has taken on. It has come this far as a result of a dedicated, caring and hard working community.

A huge turn out for the opening night of the show. The notion of conceptual pieces of art being tied together through the plot of a film is an interesting approach. It brings life to the objects. The film collaboration between Alex Bergman and Serban Ionescu will be screening all week long, till the close of the show mid march.

In addition, the drawings by Serban Ionescu and Carlos Little are beautiful in their contrast of the dark ink tones mixed with colorful paint.

steps through south east asia | LOST & FOUND

It took 744 hours to shoot 8,412 images, in what would amount to 200gb in digital weight. For days I had carried my camera, lenses tripods across South East Asia, traveling across 5 islands, and 3 countries. But to the new generation of image workflows it meant nothing, because it only took seconds for a software glitch to erase my entire image library.

What resulted afterwards was a tedious data recovery process that spanned over 3 months, 4 different programs, and massive file sizes. Eventually, I was able to recover the entire library. There was however a large problem. Over 50% of the image files were corrupted by the glitch, and only 2% of the corrupted files were readable by image editing software. This it occurred to me afterwards, was the burned film equivalent of digital photography.

The photographs presented here mark the journey across Malaysia, Singapore and the islands of Indonesia. They present a glimpse into the everyday life of South East Asia.

It lasted no more than a few minutes, but left a path of destruction that will leave a mark on the Northern Queens neighborhoods for months to come. Power lines were down, water and gas were shut off, and cars were completely demolished under the path of fury of the storm mid-afternoon yesterday.

It's always brutal the morning after.

Doubts of the collections on-going success were being manufactured by the rumor mills after Tia Cibani the creative director stepped down and her sister Fiona Cibani took the reigns. They were of course short lived after the incredible collection came to life at New York Fashion week. Beautiful pieces that demonstrated not only a unique perspective on classics, but also remained ready-to-wear seemed to be the direction for Ports 1961.

Armenia begins outside of Yerevan. Yerevan is the capital, but it's not the center of Armenian history, and culture.

For me, Armenia begins at the lachin cooridor, the only road which connects the land-locked republic of karabakh to the rest of the world. The battle to reclaim this land was fought at the expense of the blood of the youth (most of the soldiers were under 25). It was a long journey (one that was fought only 14 years ago) and one which many say was the catalyst of the deterioration of the Soviet Union.

I arrived from Armenia yesterday, and it's impossible to ignore the longing I have to return.

My thoughts are just as dis-jointed as my writing. A month is a short period of time to be gone, but the impressions which remain can't seem to leave my mind.

It feels strange not to take a cab to the Komitas Chamber Music Hall to watch Sergey and the Nairi String Quartet practice or wait for a bus that will take us to another stop of the tour. For the last two weeks, I was the 6th man on the team (so to say) documenting both the concerts and the musicians. Of the 5-stop tour, the second to last concert performed in the culture and youth palace of Nagarno-Karabag-Republic in Stephenakart was my favorite. The energy of the audience, the togetherness of the orchestra, and the stage itself made the concert unforgettable.

The last two weeks have been insane and in some sense overwhelming. I've decided that my favorite part of Yerevan is the Cafesjian Art Center. The massive cascading steps are reminiscent of the Spanish Steps in Rome, but with an Armenian character. It's also incredible that we somehow always manage to end up here on any given night.

The closing ceremonies of the Golden Apricot Film Festival were a testament to the growth of Yerevan over the past couple of years. Its events like this that make me quickly fall in love with the city.

Aside from Yerevan, I've busy working on my project, and will soon post some of the images of the concerts, and the places outside of Yerevan that I've visited.
