So a great deal of things have been going on in the past few weeks, and I thought I'd share them with you.
First and foremost I want to thank Clifford Hausner from the Mac Group. He has been instrumental in my win of Profoto's Monthly Assistant's Competition, for the Month of July. Profoto's AD, which will feature my photograph and a quick blurb I wrote about it, will run in PDN pulse for the month of October, so check that out as well.
Second, I wanted to thank Tony Alcindor and the entire Ports 1961 family for another awesome shoot. You can check out the lookbook I photographed and put together for them here - PORTS 1961 SPRING SUMMER 2010 RETAIL LOOKBOOK.
Third, the design team at Halston(what up Carlos, and Liz!!) came out with a sick collection for Spring Summer 2010. I had the pleasure of photographing it, which you can check out on style.com here - HALSTON SPRING SUMMER 2010 COLLECTION.
Fourth, I had the pleasure of working with Molly Grad (the new and extremely talented designer for Gottex Swimwear) and Bill Mullen (the awesome stylist from Art + Commerce), (Hi Bill + Molly!) during the casting for their Spring Summer 2010 Runway Show. You can check out the Polaroids from that casting here - Gottex Casting Polaroids for Spring Summer 2010 Runway Show. Some highlights include Heidi Mount, Arlenis, and Aminata, all awesome girls in their own right.
Fifth, I photographed two new stories for my book, with the help of Flynn from Wilhelmina (the face of Cartier and Levi's in Asia), who was an awesome sport and endured a 14 hour day with the most ridiculous weather ever. You can check out one story here - starlet | garen photography , and the second here - just a friend | garen photography .
Lastly, I wanted to thank Oscar from Hugo Boss, always coming in with the save. Thanks man.
Overall, September has been an absolutely insane month, a lot happened, many, many sleepless nights, 14+ hour work days, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Cheers,
Garen
